The Chicago Bears offense improved in Preseason Week 2, but questions still remain about how productive they can be.

For long stretches of yesterday’s game, the Chicago Bears offense looked a bit out of sorts. Despite getting a breakout game from their surprising rookie running back, the quarterbacks didn’t have an easy time getting points on the board.

Of course, it would’ve looked slightly better if Robert Aguayo didn’t shank his field goal attempt like a mishit nine-iron. But it also would’ve looked worse if Deonte Thompson hadn’t channeled his inner Devin Hester and returned a missed field goal for a touchdown.

All in all, the Bears will have plenty of positives to take from their 24-23 win against the Arizona Cardinals.

For one, they appear to have found their backup running back in Tarik Cohen. Despite his size, he’s shown explosiveness and fearlessness, whether he’s taking on tacklers or blitzes. I will happily take more of that.

Furthermore, Mitch Trubisky took a beating but fought through adversity as he often has before to have a solid game. Not every throw was perfect, and not every drive ended with a touchdown or “wow” moment. But in a game that everyone figured might be tougher for him, he answered the bell.

After that, though, the Chicago Bears have a whole lot of questions to answer. And they all start at the same place.

Let’s go ahead and start off with the man those questions revolve around…
