Predicting the Chicago Bears stars of the preseason
Predicting the five Chicago Bears players who will dominate the preseason slate of games.
The Chicago Bears will open the 2017 preseason on Thursday night against the Denver Broncos. Bears football is almost here!
I know it is just the preseason, but I think the preseason games are more important for the Bears this season than they typically are. Chicago is in a clear rebuilding situation and needs as much time as possible to grow the young talent on their roster.
No, you are not going to see the starters for long on Thursday night, but there will still be plenty of interesting players to watch. The Chicago Bears have many young players who have a chance to break out and become significant contributors. Whether it is a veteran nailing down a starting spot or a young guy simply taking a spot on the roster, the preseason is where players can start to separate themselves.
In this post, we are going to predict the most significant contributors for the Chicago Bears throughout the preseason. When making selections for this list, two major things were taken into account. First, the talent of the player. Obviously, a guy needs to be a good player if he is going to dominate in the preseason.
Also, it is important to look at the opportunity the player is going to get in the preseason. Jordan Howard is arguably the Bears’ best player on either side of the ball. However, he probably is not going to dominate the preseason, because the Bears already know what they have in him. Howard is unlikely to get enough playing time to be a preseason star.
That being said, there are still some starting caliber players who were selected. They are just guys who, for one reason or another, will get more of an opportunity to shine in the 2017 preseason.
Without further ado, here are the five preseason stars for the 2017 Chicago Bears.
