In the fifth round, the Chicago Bears find themselves an interesting edge rusher to add to the mix. Chikwe Obasih is an extremely strong and explosive edge player who has some nice upside at the next level. He is a strong pass rusher who is also an impact player against the run.

A balanced athlete who would help the Bears tremendously up front, Obasih is a nice value selection in the fifth round.

As the season moves along, I imagine that Iowa State wide receiver Allen Lazard will rapidly move up the draft board. He will likely be a 3rd-4th round pick as opposed to a 6th-7th rounder.

There is a lot to like about Lazard’s game. He is an extremely smooth receiver who shows an advanced route tree for a guy his age. Lazard is quick and explosive on the outside and is an impressive overall athlete.

At 6-foot-5, 223 pounds, Lazard also has fantastic jump ball abilities. There is a lot to like about this late-round selection for the Chicago Bears, as they add an exciting weapon to Trubisky’s arsenal.

Justin Lawler is not the most athletic edge rusher in this class. However, he is an extremely hard-working and tough player who will have a future in the NFL. A classic special teams guy who could also make an impact on the defensive side eventually, Lawler reminds me a bit of Sam Acho. I could see him being a late-round target for the Bears and a replacement for Acho.
