Who steps up in the secondary?

Marcus Cooper is the guy I am excited to watch in the Chicago Bears’ secondary. In 2016 with Arizona Cardinals, he finished the season with four interceptions, 11 passes defended and 63 tackles. Cooper has proved his abilities in the league. The Bears were spoiled for years while watching Charles Tillman. It will be nice to watch a capable defensive back again.

The Bears’ secondary can be sneaky good with Cooper and a re-emergence from Prince Amukamara and Quintin Demps leading the charge.

The other safety and nickel corner position battle will be interesting to follow throughout training camp. It will be exciting to see if Adrian Amos, Deiondre’ Hall,  Eddie Jackson and Bryce Callahan can earn a starting job. Eddie Jackson is my pick to earn the starting safety job. Jackson was picked in the fourth round of the 2017 draft. He’s a play maker with the ball in his hands and returned punts while with Alabama.

Kyle Fuller is a guy that has to prove he owns the talent to be a defensive back in the NFL. I would not be surprised if he did not make the roster. Fuller started his career off strong in 2014. He ended his rookie campaign with four interceptions, 10 passes defended and 50 tackles. Fast forward to 2016, he did not play a game due to knee issues. With so many new faces in the secondary, Fuller might be on the outside looking in.
