Chicago White Sox: Updated ranking of the top 15 prospects
10. Zack Collins, Catcher
For years now the Chicago White Sox have struggled with the catching position. But all of that could change once Zack Collins makes it to the majors. Collins was drafted 10th overall in the 2016 MLB draft. Collins was described by many scouts as being the best offensive weapon available in the draft, Rick Hahn and company had a no brainer when this kid fell to them at number 10.
Collins is currently playing for the Winston-Salem Dash in High-A ball. The big note on Collins is his ability to draw walks and for a catcher, that is a huge asset to have.
Collins will have plenty of time to develop his swing as he is currently batting .218. Not a very impressive average at all, but he does have 14 home runs and 64 RBI to go with that average. The White Sox may have struck gold with this kid if he can continue to grow as a player and make contact with the ball.

9. Dylan Cease, RHP
Dylan Cease, like many before him, was acquired by the Chicago White Sox via trade. This time it was from the Cubs in the Jose Quintana trade. Cease underwent Tommy John surgery in 2014 and the Cubs brought him along slowly before trading him over to the Sox.
Like many of the pitchers in the White Sox farm system, Cease is a flamethrower, regularly hitting 94-98 MPH and occasionally reaching triple digits on the gun. Cease also has a good curveball but sometimes struggles to keep it in the strike zone with consistency.
Cease has top of the rotation talent and it is yet to be seen what the White Sox will do with him exactly. I personally look for Cease to make his impact on the starting rotation. The skill set that he has is too good to throw in a bullpen.
Cease still has a lot to prove as does everyone on this list but if he can keep his delivery clean and develop his change-up, expect to see him in the starting rotation.
