Forget about Mike Glennon, rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky should come in and be the immediate starter for the Chicago Bears.

As of now, the Chicago Bears have already made their decision on who should start for the 2017 season. Let’s stop wasting time. Let’s stop wasting Bears fan’s money. Do you want to be a good football team? Well, now you can. But that involves starting rookie Mitch Trubisky. The Chicago Bears have a chance of making the playoffs, but only if they start Trubisky right off the bat.

I know they promised Mike Glennon that he is the starter for this upcoming season. Forget about that promise. Isn’t Glennon that guy that hasn’t started a game in the past two years? Is Glennon that guy that has only had a total of 18 starts since 2013? Yes, that’s him.

Am I missing something here? I’m confused on why the Bears even signed Glennon in the first place. He is a backup quarterback in the NFL. If the Bears want to continue to be bottom feeders in the NFC, then sure, start Mike Glennon.

On draft night, the Bears traded up to ensure that Trubisky is their quarterback of the future. That night, Bears general manager Ryan Pace made it clear that there would be no competition.

"“There’s no quarterback competition when Mitch gets here. Glennon is our starting quarterback,” Pace told reporters, according to JJ Stankevitz of CSN Chicago."

I understand that the Bears paid Glennon a lot of money but to say there will be no quarterback competition is just crazy to me. Do they think Glennon is Tom Brady? Give me a break. What if Trubisky looks better than Glennon in training camp? What the Bears should do is have an open quarterback competition and let the best man win.

Do you want to be the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears? Then show up and earn that job. In my opinion, the Bears should have a fresh start and play the rookie. Why are they wasting a year with Glennon when you have a chance of moving forward with your franchise quarterback? Mike Glennon is just not that good. He is at best a backup. This should be Mitch Trubisky’s time.
