1. Jordan Bell, PF/C, Oregon

Age: 22
Height: 6-foot-9
Weight: 224 pounds
Wingspan: 7-foot
2016/17 Stats (per game): 11 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals

While we have mostly centered on second-round sleepers in this post, we are now going to look at a sleeper for the Chicago Bulls at number 16. If Duke sharpshooter Luke Kennard or UCLA big man Ike Anigbogu are on the board when the Bulls pick, one of them should be the choice. However, if both players are gone, I think Jordan Bell should be in the conversation. For example, I think Bell would be a better selection for the Bulls than a guy like Terrance Ferguson.

Bell really burst onto the scene during the NCAA Tournament, dominating the paint for Oregon during their Final Four run. His combination of quickness, athleticism and length makes Bell a fantastic rim defender. He has a knack for altering all shots that come his way and has the skills to do it on a consistent basis.

Bell is also a fantastic rebounder who is not afraid to do the dirty work. He is a relatively skinny post player but he makes up for it with toughness and grit.

Offensively, Bell is a fantastic transition player. He does a great job of running the court and getting out ahead of the defense. His quickness is obvious in the post and he has a soft touch around the rim. Bell has the athleticism to play above the rim and also the knack for making close baskets underneath. He is also an extremely impressive passer out of the post.

With his length and quickness, Bell has a chance to be an elite rim protector at the next level. His ability to switch also makes him a fantastic fit for the NBA game. His defensive game will translate to the NBA and he does bring some offensive upside.

Bell may not be the ideal pick for the Chicago Bulls at number 16 but he is a talented player who is a perfect fit as a stretch-five in today’s NBA. Bell is a major sleeper in the 2017 draft class.
