Chicago Bulls News: Dwyane Wade is pivotal to off-season
The most important player to the Chicago Bulls off-season is veteran guard Dwyane Wade.
The Chicago Bulls are entering what is believed to be a pivotal off-season.
Though, the same sentiment has been shared since Derrick Rose originally tore his ACL in 2011. Each off-season the Bulls would attempt to remove themselves from basketball hell only to fall further and further down into the abyss.
After being eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, the Bulls are now faced with the decision of what direction to take their team. The Bulls can continue their strategy of rebuilding while also contending or they can opt for a teardown.

There is one person in the Bulls’ organization that will influence that decision. That person is not general manager Gar Forman nor is it vice-president John Paxson. Jimmy Butler isn’t even the person with the influence to make that decision for the Bulls.
The person is Dwyane Wade.
At the end of June, Wade will need to make a decision on his player option for the 2017-2018 season.
If Wade exercises his player option, then chances are the Bulls will continue to their modified rebuild but have the ultimate goal of contending for a championship next season. Wade has not been shy when talking about his future with the Bulls. Wade has been adamant that he would not return to the Bulls if Jimmy Butler is traded.
If Wade declines his player option and leaves via free agency, then that may push the Bulls towards a complete rebuild. Wade departing would open the door for the Bulls to trade Butler before the NBA Draft.
