Chicago Bears: Possible 2018 NFL Draft First-Round Targets
Orlando Brown Jr., OT, Oklahoma
The 2017 NFL Draft class was not exactly loaded with offensive line talent. I would consider offensive tackle to be one of the Bears’ most obvious needs but they were never in a spot to add a legitimate impact offensive tackle to the mix.
The Bears have a strong mix of players on the interior offensive line, but their starting offensive tackle duo of Charles Leno and Bobby Massie leave plenty to be desired. If they want to give Trubisky the best possible opportunity to succeed as their franchise quarterback, getting him true talent at the offensive tackle position will be essential.
The 2018 draft class expects to have much more talent up front, with Orlando Brown Jr. being the premier talent at the position. Brown is the son of the late Orlando Brown who was a dominant NFL offensive tackle for many years. The younger Brown is a massive man at 6-foot-8, 340 pounds has an extremely well-rounded skillset.
Brown is a powerful run blocker who can absolutely dominate at the point of attack. He would undoubtedly be a strong addition to the mix for Jordan Howard and the running game. Despite being such a huge man, Brown does move pretty well up front. He shows good quickness and overall athleticism and has the length and ability to mirror in pass protection.
Brown is a dominant run blocker who has elite pass protection upside as well. He is a true franchise left tackle prospect who is going to be among the best prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft. Brown would be an ideal addition for the Chicago Bears.
