Just a few picks after taking Peterman, the Bears get him a young tight end to grow with. With the tenth pick of the fourth round, the Chicago Bears select Iowa tight end George Kittle.

Kittle’s elite blocking ability from the tight end position immediately stands out on tape. He is a dominant run blocker who shows perfect technique. He looks like a tackle out there consistently bowling over opposing defensive linemen and linebackers.

At worst, Kittle is going to be a productive blocking tight end at the next level. However, he definitely has the ability to be a well-rounded player.

Kittle showed some receiving ability in college but never had much of an opportunity to put up numbers in Iowa’s run heavy offense. He still showed the ability to stretch the field and make plays in the red zone. Kittle also has soft hands, especially for a big tight end.

At the combine, Kittle showed his athletic upside. He ran an impressive 4.52-second 40-yard dash and had a 35-inch vertical leap. Kittle also posted an impressive 11-foot broad jump.

Make no mistake about it, Kittle will be a threat in the passing game at the next level. Add in his obvious run blocking ability and the Bears may have found themselves a strong starter at the tight end position.
