Chicago Bears: Final 7-Round 2017 NFL Mock Draft
I would not call outside linebacker a major position of need for the Chicago Bears. Last year’s first round pick Leonard Floyd looks like a stud in the making and Pernell McPhee is a strong starter opposite of him.

Also, guys like Willie Young, Lamarr Houston and Sam Acho provide quality depth behind them. However, in today’s NFL where the passing game is king, you can never have too many guys who can get after the quarterback.
After opting for the safety Adams over the pass rusher Thomas in the first, the Bears add an impact pass rusher with their second round selection.
Houston’s Tyus Bowser is one of the most interesting edge defenders in this draft class. Bowser is a fantastic natural athlete who shows incredible speed and burst off of the edge. He played basketball for two years in college and his athleticism from the court has easily transitioned to the football field.
Bowser is undoubtedly a bit raw and can get overpowered at times but he shows elite upside as a speed rusher on the outside. He is just starting to come into his own as a football player and could be a massive steal for the Chicago Bears at the top of the second round.
There is certainly some boom or bust with this pick, but Bowser is an incredibly enticing player who has massive upside at the next level. A pass rushing duo of Bowser and Floyd would be incredibly scary for opposing quarterbacks for many years.
