Chicago Bears 2017 NFL Draft: Ranking Top Five First Round Options
3. Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson
Deshaun Watson has been one of the best players in college football each of the last two seasons. He led Clemson to back-to-back National Championship appearances, including taking home the crystal ball last season.

Wins are the worst way to evaluate quarterback player, but it is hard to ignore the success Watson had on the field for Clemson. The guy is simply a proven winner who will do whatever it takes to help his team win.
There are many concerns about Watson’s arm strength at the next level. He does not have elite arm strength, but nothing on tape makes me think he cannot make all NFL throws. I think his lack of arm strength is something that is being overblown.
Even if Watson does not have the strongest arm, he is still an extremely accurate passer in the short to intermediate range. Give me elite accuracy over a big arm any day of the week.
Watson is also a mobile quarterback who shows great athleticism for the position. He will step up in the pocket and make plays with his legs when necessary. Watson also shows great pocket awareness and of course, has elite-level intangibles.
If the Chicago Bears take a quarterback in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Deshaun Watson should be the guy. I think this pick is possible, but not the most likely scenario.
