Chicago Bears 2017 NFL Draft: Ranking Top Five First Round Options
5. Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
After a strong 2016 season, Mitch Trubisky left college a year early to enter the 2017 NFL Draft. He was only a full-time starter for one season, but Trubisky was absolutely fantastic. Last season, Trubisky completed 68 percent of his passes for 3,748 yards, 30 touchdowns and only six interceptions.

Trubisky looked the part of a franchise NFL quarterback last season, leading his team to success on the field. He is a big and strong quarterback who can push the ball down the field. Trubisky also has great short to intermediate accuracy, consistently putting the ball on a dime.
The Bears signed Mike Glennon to a free agent contract last season. While they did give him a lot of money, Chicago is really only committed to him for one season. If they find a quarterback who they like, signing Glennon should not deter them away from making the selection. If Trubisky happens to be their guy, he will be the pick.
That being said, I only see this as a slight possibility. Trubisky is a talented passer, but only starting for one season is a concern. If he is good enough to be a top three NFL pick, why couldn’t he have started in the years prior? It just seems odd.
There are a ton of Trubisky fans out there and he seems like the top-ranked quarterback by most. However, he is far from a sure thing. I do not rule out the Bears making Trubisky their franchise quarterback, but I do not find it particularly likely.
