4. Reynaldo Lopez- Pitcher

Perhaps the one prospect in the Adam Eaton trade that I was most excited about, Reynaldo Lopez has all the stuff to contribute to the White Sox right now. After having a stellar spring training and impressing the White Sox, it was a little odd that Lopez didn’t start out in the big leagues. However, the Sox wanted Lopez to go to Triple-A and get some innings under his belt.

Lopez has major league experience, already starting games last season with the Washington Nationals. It’s just a matter of time before he makes his White Sox debut. Lopez is currently 1-1 with a 4.87 ERA. It is early but Lopez certainly hasn’t dazzled like he did in spring training.

Lopez has gotten stronger every start this season and is starting to get comfortable in his role down in Triple-A. That’s exactly what you want to see from your young pitchers is progress from start to start and Lopez is doing just that.

In my opinion, right now all that matters for Lopez is getting innings and working on his delivery. Lopez has a good fastball and has developed a good changeup, he needs to take the time to work on his pitches and that way when he does make his debut, he can show fans just how good he is.
