5. Carson Fulmer, RHP

Carson Fulmer is a very interesting prospect for the Chicago White Sox, as he has already spent some time with the big league club last season. Even though it didn’t go the way Fulmer or Chicago wanted it to go, he still learned from it. Fulmer struggled at the big league level and I feel like he just wasn’t ready for that level of competition.

Fulmer also got bounced around from starter to reliever with the White Sox and that probably didn’t help his confidence any. Right now Fulmer is working in Triple-A as a starter and I expect the White Sox to keep him as a starter. Coming up to the White Sox last season Fulmer had some high expectations from fans and he wasn’t himself.

This season I expect that Fulmer is going to be mentally prepared as well as physically prepared to step on the mound in Chicago when the time comes. Fulmer has been the most consistent in his starts this season out of all the pitchers for Chicago.

Chicago has so much depth for their future rotation that it’s really hard to say who exactly will be the starters and who will be in the bullpen. Either way, Fulmer is going to be a valuable piece moving forward. I look for Fulmer to get another shot with the White Sox at some point this season.
