9. Alec Hansen, RHP

Alec Hansen was drafted by the White Sox 49th overall in 2016. He is a right-hander who is currently in Single-A with Kannapolis. Hansen is 6-foot-7 and 235 pounds. He is best known for his fastball which can hit 99 MPH but is consistent around 94-97.

The 22-year-oldld righty fell to the White Sox after concerns with his control while in college moved him from a starter to the bullpen. However, the Chicago White Sox may have got a steal drafting him in the second round. Hansen has the size and the arm strength to be a legitimate number one starter in a rotation.

The biggest knock on Hansen has been his control. He has struggled to keep the ball in the strike zone. If he expects to be a big league starter, he will definitely need to figure this out in the minors before he has any chance of pitching for the White Sox. If Hansen can figure out his delivery and control the strike zone, he will be a solid option for the Sox in the future.

Things are looking really good for the future of the Chicago White Sox and it all starts with the young talented pitchers they have either traded for or drafted themselves. It’s nice to see Hansen having early success and it shows that the White Sox farm system wasn’t built just from trading Sale and Eaton.
