1.Yoan Moncada, Second Base

The top prospect in all of baseball is currently destroying the ball in Triple-A. Yoan Moncada is a flat out stud and is the future of the Chicago White Sox. He is a switch-hitting second baseman with power and great contact ability. He also has a ton of speed and is a threat to steal bases anytime he gets on base.

I look for Moncada to make an immediate impact when he reaches the big leagues but there is no reason to rush him up early this season. Be patient with him and let him gain confidence before he steps into the batter’s box against major league pitching. We have a small sample size from Boston last season and Moncada wasn’t that impressive with his bat. So, right now it is a great sign that he is hitting the ball well for Charlotte in Triple-A.

Moncada will be a great addition to the White Sox lineup at some point this season. However, I personally want to see him stay in Triple-A as long as he can. The White Sox are not going anywhere this season and the last thing we need is for Moncada’s growth to be stunted with an early call-up.

Moncada is well on his way to becoming a star not only for the Chicago White Sox but for the entire league.

The Chicago White Sox have a nice list of prospects that will certainly keep fans invested in the team. It’s good to see Rick Hahn and company dedicate themselves to a rebuild and do it the right way. The number one thing for Sox fans right now is patience, don’t expect the world from these young players right away.

This top 10 list could change up a bit here in the near future if the White Sox can land top international star Luis Robert in the next month. Also, keep an eye on any Jose Quintana trade. That would certainly shake up the top ten list.
