The Chicago White Sox have a plethora of young talent in their farm system thanks to a couple big trades made during the winter meetings. Here are my top 10 prospects to look out for.

The Chicago White Sox are in the middle of the biggest rebuild in franchise history. After trading away ace starting pitcher Chris Sale and fan favorite Adam Eaton this past December, things are starting to look up for the White Sox. With any great rebuild comes talented young prospects, so it’s time to break down the top 10 prospects in the loaded Chicago White Sox organization.

10. Dane Dunning, RHP

Dane Dunning comes in as the number 10 prospect on my list. Dunning is a right-handed pitcher who was part of the Adam Eaton deal in December. He is currently pitching for the Kannapolis Intimidators (A). Dunning is 6-foot-4, 200 pounds and is known for having a consistent fastball that reaches 96 MPH easily. Dunning has wowed fans and scouts in his first three starts of the season as he is currently 1-0 with a 0.45 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 20 innings.

As you can see, Dunning has been on fire to start the season and that’s exactly what fans and White Sox management should be excited about. Although it’s a small sample size and Dunning is fresh out of college, it will be nice to follow Dunning and see how he pitches the rest of the season.

Working primarily as a reliever at the University of Florida, Dunning was a stud. However many scouts see Dunning being a very good starter at the next level. Dunning needs to work on his breaking ball as his fastball is already his best pitch.

It’s hard to say where the White Sox plan on using Dunning, but right now he is in the starting rotation. We will see how that goes as he has a long road to the majors still. However, with all of the pitching talent in the White Sox’ system, I could see Dunning being used more as a reliever in the majors. Time will tell.
