2017 NFL Draft Daily Chicago Bears Target: UCF CB Shaquill Griffin
Some players in the draft come with great story, that’s the case with this intriguing UCF cornerback Shaquill Griffin
In less than a week we all will know where the new prospect got selected in the 2017 NFL Draft. We still got a few more possible Chicago Bears targets for you, so continuing the next man up is cornerback Shaquill Griffin out of UCF.
Griffin is an intriguing prospect, he has good NFL size at 6-foot-0 with 194 pounds, he has good abilities to cover wide receivers and doesn’t give much for them, in the last two years he had the incredible mark of 26 broken passes and five interceptions with two returned for six points. He also is an effective tackler that won’t miss opportunities to end up plays.
He seems to be a little raw after coming from a not big school as some others cornerbacks in this draft, but the reason for that wasn’t lack of talent. As matter of fact, Griffin received 26 scholarships offers, including of from Alabama, but he decided to go to UCF because that was the only place where he would be allowed to plays with his twin brother Shaquem.

Shaquem was born with amniotic band syndrome, a rare congenital birth defect, that lead him to have one of his hand amputated when both brothers were 4 years old. This shows us how much personality this kid as and also put a chip on his shoulder to play for his brother at the next level. It would be awesome to see someone with such great story succeed as Bear.
His good combine showing put Griffin up on some boards, but in my opinion, the Bears should be able to get him with one of the two fourth round picks that the Bears has in this year draft. Depending on how the board starts to fill a trade up to get a late third round pick won’t be out of the question if Griffin is a target from the Bears front office.
Now that Tracy Porter isn’t a Bear anymore, a cornerback like Griffin could be used on the roster and may fill a need for the team.
