Chicago Cubs shortstop Addison Russell crushed a big walk-off home run on Wednesday. Watch the big play here.

On Tuesday night, the Chicago Cubs came back from being down 5-0 to beat the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 9-7. The Cubs were able to do it again on Wednesday. They trailed 4-0 early in this game and scratched their way back into it.

The Cubs were able to score in the eighth inning to bring it close. They entered the ninth trailing the Brewers 4-3. Kris Bryant hit a ninth-inning RBI single scoring Jon Jay and tying up the game. Brewers closer Neftali Feliz was able to get Anthony Rizzo to ground out for the second out of the inning, but Addison Russell sent the crowd home happy.

Russell knew it right when he hit it and so did Willson Contreras from the on-deck circle.

A single would have worked but Russell has a flair for the dramatic. His three-run shot walked it off for the Cubs giving them a 7-4 victory. The Chicago Cubs have now won back-to-back thrilling games after four-straight losses before that. These are the kind of wins that could be the start of a big win streak.

Make no mistake about it, Addison Russell is a dangerous hitter who needs to be taken seriously in the middle of the Cubs’ order. He is a powerful offensive player who also shows strong contact skills. He also has a tendency to step up and come up with big hits in the late innings.

The Cubs’ lineup is full of talent up and down the batting order, but Russell may be their single most clutch hitter. He proved his worth again on Wednesday, coming through in arguably the biggest spot in the Cubs’ young season. Big win for the Cubs, as they take two out of three games from the Brewers.
