2017 NFL Draft: Chicago Bears seven-round mock draft
The Bears get more athletic with this pick. Awuzie has great feet and smooth movements. He is able to open up his hips and has good stop-and-go movements to mirror any route.

Awuzie has experience playing the outside as well as slot. At the slot, he is especially dangerous because he is an effective blitzer. He had seven sacks in his last two seasons at Colorado.
The 2017 NFL Draft is loaded with excellent defensive backs. Awuzie is one of the top corners in the draft, but he receives the lowest attention. With the draft being stacked, he gets lost in the shuffle. Of all the corners, however, he is the safest, most pro-ready player available.
I have to admit I really like Quincy Wilson as much as Awuzie, but Wilson went to the Packers. Even so, either one would be a good choice for the Bears. Besides, the move made for you sometimes ends up being the best move for you.
If the Bears go with Awuzie, they get a solid player. He’ll make the plays you need him to make, and he won’t hurt you. He may never be great, but he’ll have a good career. He’ll be a very good complimentary player. You don’t always need Hall of Fame players to hit in a draft. If you pick up a solid player who plays for a long time with you, that’s a hit.
Awuzie has been compared to Prine Amukamara. It is fortunate, then, that Amukamara is with the Bears. He can be helpful in getting Awuzie prepared for the NFL world.
Awuzie is a solid, if not great pick. On a team with some players who are not good fits, he’d fit in just fine.
