Watch Chicago Cubs slugger Kris Bryant crush his first home run of the season off of the video board in left field.

The Chicago Cubs are hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second game of their three-game set on Saturday. The wind is blowing out like crazy at Wrigley Field, but Kris Bryant did not need any help on this one.

Kyle Schwarber led off the bottom of the first inning with a bloop double down the right field line. The reigning National League MVP stepped up and rocked this ball deep to left for his first home run of the season. That ball was absolutely crushed.

That ball was hit 105 MPH off of the ball and traveled 451 feet through the air. Like I said, absolutely crushed.

Bryant’s home run off of Tyler Glasnow gave the Cubs a 2-0. They were able to tack on two more runs in the inning (an Addison Russell RBI triple and Jason Heyward RBI single) and head to the second up 4-0. Not a bad way to start the game with Jake Arrieta on the mound.

Bryant is the reigning National League MVP but he got off to a relatively slow start to the season. That being said, he has looked great in the past few days and appears primed for a massive breakout. With Glasnow struggling and the wind blowing out, do not be surprised to see Bryant hit a couple of more bombs in this game. When this guy is locked in like he seems to be right now, look out.

On the Chicago Cubs broadcast, Len Kasper said that the left field video board has been hit six times in its existence, Bryant has hit it four times himself. He is clearly an incredible player with a ton of power. Expect to see his home run count to rise quickly.
