The Bears went on the clock with the 36th overall pick and there were still plenty of talented players who I had an eye on. So, of course, I looked at trade down options. This is a pretty simple trade, going from the fourth pick in the second round to the ninth pick. The Bears picked up a valuable fourth-round selection for their troubles.

The value of picks traded according to the NFL Draft Trade Value Chart: 552 to 540, advantage Bears.

The Chicago Bears find an exciting weapon for their new quarterback, landing tight end Evan Engram out of Ole Miss. Engram is essentially a wide receiver, as he does not show much ability as a blocker. That being said, his receiving upside is incredibly exciting.

Engram absolutely exploded at the combine, showing off his elite overall athleticism for the position. He is a 6-foot-3, 234-pound tight end who ran a 4.42 40-yard dash and had an impressive 36-inch vertical leap. Engram also showed off his short-area quickness with a 6.92-second three-cone drill and 4.23-second 20-yard shuttle.

Make no mistake about it, Engram is an elite athlete who has game-breaking speed at the tight end position. He is going to be a huge weapon at the next level, showing the ability to stretch the middle of the field. He also has some run after catch ability that would certainly come in handy with a young quarterback.

Engram is being directly compared to Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed by many in the industry. While he is certainly raw, it is not hard to see Engram having a similar kind of impact as a receiver at the next level.

He is not a well-rounded player at the tight end position, but he is big, fast and athletic. The Bears may have found a huge steal here with the ninth pick in the second round.
