Safeties

Jamal Adams, LSU: 6-0, 214 pounds, Projected Round: 1

I mentioned earlier that Watson was my preferred choice for the Chicago Bears at number three. However, if they do not want to pull the trigger, I hope Jamal Adams is the pick. Adams is such a complete football player who is always working hard and making plays.

He is a beast in the box against the run, will annihilate receivers coming across the middle and can play good man-to-man coverage. Adams also steps up and makes plays for his team when they need him to the most. Adams would be an elite playmaker for the Bears defense and would immediately fill a huge need.

Malik Hooker, Ohio State: 6-foot-1, 206 pounds, Projected Round: 1

I prefer Adams, but I would not hate the selection of Malik Hooker at number three. Hooker is an elite coverage safety who shows the incredible range and natural ball skills. He would immediately make their secondary much better and could be an option with the third overall pick.

Budda Baker, Washington: 5-foot-10, 195 pounds, Projected Round: 2

Budda Baker is a similar deep safety to Hooker. He is extremely fast and athletic, giving him the ability to cover a ton of ground. Baker also shows elite ball skills, making him a perfect fit for a centerfield role. However, do not discount his ability to play man-to-man. Baker is a strong slot cornerback who can help there as well.

John Johnson, Boston College: 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, Projected Round: 5

If the Bears want to take a shot on a later round safety, John Johnson should be the guy. Johnson is a converted cornerback who shows great athleticism and natural coverage skills. He is a bit raw, but if the price is right, I could see the Chicago Bears making a run at him.
