The Chicago Bears 2017 NFL Pre-Season schedule was revealed on Monday. Who will the Bears be playing next August?

In a sign that the 2017 NFL season is closer than realized, the Chicago Bears pre-season schedule was revealed on Monday.

The obvious caveat applies and that is that the NFL pre-season has no concrete value.

More from Da Windy City

Though, the 2017 pre-season will serve as the first opportunity for Bears’ fans to get a look at the team’s revamped offense. No longer with the Bears are veteran quarterback Jay Cutler and wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. Cutler and Jeffery were the starters at their respective positions for the Bears last season. Cutler remains a free agent while Jeffery signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Replacing Cutler at the quarterback position is Mike Glennon. The Bears signed Glennon to a three-year deal this off-season. While there is over $43 million attached to Glennon’s three-year deal, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers backup quarterback is essentially playing on a one-year deal with $19 million guaranteed. The Bears also have Mark Sanchez but his value for the team is off the field rather than on the field. The Bears are also expected to select a quarterback early in the 2017 NFL Draft. If that is the case, then the rookie quarterback will see significant playing time during the pre-season.

Meanwhile, the Bears have yet to truly replace Jeffery at the wide receiver position. Kendall Wright and Markus Wheaton were signed but neither of those two has served as a primary wide receiver in the past. Cameron Meredith and Kevin White are also expected to have a larger role in the Bears’ offense next season.
