2017 NFL Draft: Chicago Bears Complete Seven-Round Mock Draft
George Kittle is a talented tight end who shows strong blocking ability in college. He looked like an offensive tackle both in pass protection and in the run game. Kittle also shows some nice receiving ability, making some plays in the middle of the field for the Hawkeyes.
Kittle tore up the combine, showing more speed and athleticism than anyone expected. He played in a run-based offense at Iowa. Is it possible that Kittle is an elite receiving tight end who just never got an opportunity to prove himself? Elite may be a stretch, but he undoubtedly has some nice upside at the next level.
Snagging Kittle in the fifth round would be a huge pick for the Bears at an obvious position of need. At worst, he has value as a strong blocking tight end. But there is some passing game upside here as well.
Sojourn Shelton was a four-year starter for a strong Wisconsin defense. He shows good athleticism for a cornerback and impressive quickness in short spaces. He is a natural man-to-man defender who has elite route recognition skills and can read the quarterback well.
Shelton is a gifted player who has playmaking ability, but his size is a major flaw. At 5-foot-9, 177 pounds, Shelton simply cannot play outside at the next level. However, he has the skills that could make him an elite slot cornerback. In today NFL where the passing game is king, a slot cornerback is basically a defensive starter.

The Bears value size at the cornerback position, but Shelton is a talented guy who could really thrive in a specific role for this defense.
