Hansen is a 6-foot-2, 202-pound receiver who shows good athleticism on the outside. He is not a deep speed burner or freak athlete, but Hansen can go up and get the ball well. He also has enough speed to make plays over the top on occasion.
The Bears lost wide receiver Alshon Jeffery in free agency this offseason. They will look to replace him with Kevin White and Cameron Meredith, but it would not hurt to add another talented player to the mix. Finding Hansen in the fourth round is impressive value.
Hansen is a playmaker on the outside who shows great route running ability. He is also smooth around the boundary, consistently making tight catches along the sideline. Hansen also shows the ability to catch the ball in traffic track the ball in the air.
Make no mistake about it, Chad Hansen is a talented wide receiver who has a future in this league. He is not a freak on the outside, but he is a dependable receiver who could make a strong number two.
