2017 NFL Draft: Chicago Bears Complete Seven-Round Mock Draft
On top of having a ridiculously difficult name to spell and pronounce, Tanoh Kpassagnon has a skillset that could make him an NFL star. At 6-foot-7, 289 pounds with 35 5/8″ arms, Kpassagnon has elite size for a defensive lineman. He is also quick, powerful and extremely athletic.
Kpassganon is the total package. However, there is a reason that he is a possible Day Three pick. For starters, Kpassaganon does not show great burst off of the snap. The athleticism is there, as is the speed and quickness, but he never seems to fire off the ball strong. Kpassagnon also does not shows a wide array of pass rush moves. Basically, he can bull rush and he will occasionally show a quick swim move. But that is about it.
Kpassagnon has the length and power to play a two-gap role but also has the quickness and athleticism to one-gap. He is a relatively odd fit in the Bears’ 3-4 defense, but I am sure they could find a use for him. In the base defense, Kpassagnon would make sense as a five-technique defensive end. I could also see him making some noise as a strong side rush linebacker. On obvious passing downs, he would be a strong fit as a three-technique interior rusher.
He has perceived versatility that could be extremely valuable. Kpassagnon has the ability to be a star defensive player in the NFL. He just needs to become more consistent and work on his craft as a pass rusher. Make no mistake about it, the upside is there.
