A recent three-round 2017 NFL Mock Draft has the Chicago Bears adding three significant long-term assets to the mix.

After going 3-13 last season, the Chicago Bears are in a great position to add impact talent in the 2017 NFL Draft. They not only hold the third overall selection, the Bears pick towards the top of each round.

Ryan Pace and company did a nice job of landing impact talent in the draft last year and could quickly change the direction of the team in a good way with another strong showing this season. It will obviously be interesting to see what the Bears do at three but do not discount the value of making strong mid-round selections.

Luke Easterling of Draft Wire recently put together a complete three-round 2017 NFL mock draft. There are many interesting selections in this mock but we are obviously going to focus on the Bears. Easterling puts together a strong three-round scenario for the Pace and the Bears.

With the third overall pick, Easterling gives the Bears LSU safety Jamal Adams. First, let’s see what he had to say about the selection:

"A quarterback wouldn’t shock me here, but the Bears desperately need to improve their secondary with an instant-impact playmaker. Adams is the most polished, NFL-ready player in this class."

Adams is an incredibly talented and well-rounded player at the safety position. He shows a ton of natural playmaking ability, dominating in college as an in-the-box safety. Adams is a fierce run defender who is also an enforcer in the middle of the field. Having Adams lined up at safety would make NFL receivers think twice about going across the middle against the Chicago Bears.

He also shows good speed, impressive athleticism and natural coverage ability. Adams can play deep zone coverage and excels as a man-to-man defender. He is the total package at the safety position and would be an immediate difference maker in the Bears secondary.

In the second round of this mock draft, the Bears land Wisconsin offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk.

Ramczyk is arguably the most talented offensive tackle in this draft class. To be fair, this draft class is not exactly loaded with talent at the position, but Ramczyk has a chance to be great.

He shows fantastic athleticism and quickness for the position that allows him to succeed as a pass protector. Ramczyk would be an immediate upgrade for the Chicago Bears over Bobby Massie at right tackle and has high-level left tackle upside for the long-term.

With their final selection in this mock draft, the Bears took Clemson cornerback Cordrea Tankersley. Tankersley is a long and athletic cornerback prospect who would undoubtedly be a strong addition to the Bears mix in the defensive backfield.

He plays strong press coverage on the outside and shows great natural man-to-man ability. Tankersley is a fun player to watch and would fill a big need for the Bears.

We have a ways to go before we know for sure who the Chicago Bears will land in the 2017 NFL Draft. However, I can say for certainty that I would be happy by this three-round haul.
