2017 NFL Draft: Chicago Bears to meet Jamal Adams
After a successful Pro Day, LSU safety and 2017 NFL Draft prospect Jamal Adams has lined up pre-draft visit with the Chicago Bears. Will Adams be patrolling the secondary for the Bears?
Jamal Adams had an impressive Pro Day on Wednesday.
Adams’ impressive Pro Day on Wednesday has put him back on the map in terms of being a top-5 selection in the 2017 NFL Draft. Moreso, there has been an increase in speculation that the Chicago Bears could select Adams with the No. 3 overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft.
In an effort to finalize their 2017 NFL Draft grades, the Bears will have a private meeting with Adams.
There has been a debate between Adams and Ohio State’s safety Malik Hooker in terms of who is the best safety prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft. With his impressive Pro Day on Wednesday, Adams may have ended that debate.

In three season with the LSU Tigers, Adams has compiled 209 tackles with a total of 5 interceptions and 14 pass deflects.
There is no question that the safety position has been a mess for the Bears in recent seasons. Ever since Mike Brown left the team in the mid-2000s, the Bears have lacked an impact talent at the safety position. The 2017 NFL Draft presents a prime opportunity for the Bears to change their fortunes at the safety position.
While private visits are an important part of the draft process, it by no means is an indicator that the team will draft the player that they are visiting with. In most cases, private visits serve as a way for NFL teams to finalize their grades on draft prospects.
