The Chicago Cubs will play the St. Louis Cardinals in MLB 2017 action. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

The Chicago Cubs did not have an ideal start to their 2017 season. In their first game as defending World Series champions, the Cubs fell to the St. Louis Cardinals 4-3 on Opening Day. After a day off, the Cubs and Cardinals will get back into action on Tuesday night.

Both of these teams are loaded with talent all over the field and figure to be major players in the National League Central conversation. The Cardinals got the upper hand on Sunday night, but the Cubs will undoubtedly be ready to get them back in this one.

Jake Arrieta will take the mound for the Cubs in his first start of the season. Arrieta has fantastic natural stuff and can be as good as any MLB pitcher on a given night. However, he struggled with control last season.

If Arrieta can find a consistent release point and command the strike zone, he will give the Cardinals problems. However, that is undoubtedly a major “if”.

Arrieta will be opposed on the mound by Cardinals long-time ace Adam Wainwright. Wainwright is not the guy who he used to be, but he is still a rock-solid pitcher who will undoubtedly come prepared for his first start of the season. The Cubs offense is loaded with talent, but facing Wainwright is never easy.
