Chicago White Sox: Series Preview vs. Detroit Tigers
The Chicago White Sox start off their 2017 campaign with a three-game set with the Detroit Tigers.
Baseball season is finally here! Chicago White Sox fans have waited for this day for a long time now. With the tremendous offseason Rick Hahn and company put together, who wouldn’t be just a little excited to see some of these young kids play?
Now, I realize that this team is going to be very inconsistent and struggle for most of the year, but it’s baseball and there isn’t anything like it. Rooting for your team through ups and downs is why we love this sport. Just ask Cubs fans, they have been holding onto hope for years and years and finally, after a long a painful wait, they got to witness history last season.
Anything is possible when it comes to a brand new season. I, for one, will be paying close attention to how these young White Sox’ players perform through adversity.
The Chicago White Sox will kick off the season vs the Detroit Tigers at newly named Guaranteed Rate Field. Detroit will be in contention for the American League Central title, although it will most likely be either Kansas City or Cleveland winning the division.

As you can see, I have the White Sox taking two of three from Detroit simply based off of playing at home and having a plethora of young talent in the lineup. I feel like the youngsters will start the season off on the right foot before they start to find some struggles. Detroit usually starts the season off slow as well, so I can see the Sox taking two games away from Detroit.

Let’s be honest, it doesn’t really matter how many games the White Sox win this year. This season is all about development. As long as the young players are developing in and showing signs of progression, it really doesn’t matter if they lose 100+ games. However, it is going to fun to watch these players develop and see if they can be useful when the White Sox are ready to compete.
