The Chicago Bears continue to look for the answer at safety. They did find half of that answer with Adrian Amos who is playing well in his first two seasons, but they still need depth. They signed Quintin Demps through free agency, but there is an out after just one season. Besides, he is on the wrong side of age 30.

Evans can come in and provide depth in 2017. If Demps doesn’t work out, Evans can step in and play alongside Amos.

Evans is the type of hard hitter Bears fans are used to watching. He batters ball carriers. He sticks his helmet into their chests, wraps up well, and runs his feet until they go down. His hits are often explosive, violent episodes. He also plays with a passion for the game, something lacking on the Bears team.

Evans is also very athletic. Coming out of high school, he played baseball, and in football, he was a wide receiver as well as defensive back. His receiver skills come in handy when he goes up for the ball. In 2016, he recorded four interceptions and seven pass breakups.

Evans also has good speed, which allows him to play a wide range on the field. He could play high safety, then close in quickly and make a tackle. All his movements on the field are smooth, and he doesn’t waste any of them. His instincts are excellent, too. He looks into the quarterback, and he can diagnose a play pretty quickly.

Justin Evans brings in great athleticism and physicality. The Chicago Bears need to get back to being the “Monsters of the Midway” and have opponents fear them again.
