With their second fourth-round selection, the Chicago Bears find more help for their franchise quarterback. This time, in the shape of a massive offensive lineman.

More from Da Windy City

Julie’n Davenport immediately stands out for his size. Davenport checked into the combine at 6-7, 318 pounds. Great size for the position for sure, but it is his elite 36.5-inch arms that really stand out. Davenport has ridiculous natural length that will certainly come in handy as he tries to keep pass rushers away at the next level.

Davenport is not just a big body has long arms. He also shows good athleticism for an offensive tackle. Davenport can move around a bit, and while his footwork is a mess, it is easy to see his upside as a pass protector at the next level.

Coming from Bucknell to the NFL is not going to be an easy jump for Davenport. He was not exactly going against the best that college football had to offer on a weekly basis. It is fair to wonder if Davenport will struggle to adapt to the NFL games at the next level.

Davenport is far from a sure thing, but he is a talented guy who has a ton of upside. In fact, he has legitimate left tackle ability if he is given the time to learn. The Bears would not likely expect much out of Davenport as a rookie, but he could be a significant contributor to the team as early as 2018 either at right tackle or on the left side.
