Every time that I do a mock draft for the Chicago Bears, Rasul Douglas is available at this pick and I cannot help but take him. He is an absolutely perfect fit for this team and is a great value choice early in the fourth round.

The Bears have gotten better at cornerback this offseason, but there is still plenty of room to grow. It may no longer be a top priority, but it would be wise for them to invest into the position at some point in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Douglas comes in at 6-2, 209 pounds with an impressive arm length of 32 3/8″. He is an incredibly big and long cornerback who fits Vic Fangio’s defense extremely well. Fangio loves having big and physical cornerbacks who can press at the line of scrimmage. Douglas is a perfect player for his system, showing complete control against the receiver in press coverage.

Fangio allows his cornerbacks to be aggressive, always making sure that they have deep safety help over the top. With Williams protecting him on the back-end, the Bears could use Douglas to aggressively beat up opposing wide receivers. His size is great, but there is more to Douglas as a player.

He shows great natural instincts in coverage and has good ball skills. Douglas is not a speed burner on the outside, but he makes up for it in other ways. Simply put, he is a talented player who could end being a major steal at this point in the draft.
