Cubs: 101-61
Unless they get struck with major injuries, the Chicago Cubs will be just as dominant as they were last season. Losing Dexter Fowler will hurt, but I am a huge believer in Albert Almora. Getting a full season of Kyle Schwarber will also be a game changer.
They have the best collection of position players in baseball and one of the best starting rotations. Heck, even the Cubs’ bullpen is loaded with upside. The 2017 Chicago Cubs will be one of the best teams in baseball.
White Sox: 66-96
The South Siders are not going to be a good baseball team, we know that much right now. They have some interesting bats that could keep them afloat for a while, but that starting rotation is absolutely terrible. If Jose Quintana gets traded at any point in 2017, the White Sox will have the worst rotation in all of baseball.
It is difficult to win games without consistent pitching. However, the rebuilding White Sox are probably best off having a losing season anyway. The most important part of the 2017 season for the Chicago White Sox is player progression. They simply must find as many viable long-term pieces as possible.

Cubs:
The Chicago Cubs 2017 roster is better than the roster that they had last season. There is so much to like about the Cubs’ roster between their starting rotation that features Jon Lester, Jake Arrieta, and Kyle Hendricks; and an offensive lineup that includes Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant, Kyle Schwarber, and an emerging Addison Russell.
In terms of whether or not the Cubs will repeat as World Series champions, I don’t think that will be the case. Repeating as World Series champions is a difficult task in Major League Baseball. The Cubs will make the post-season and probably reach the National League Championship series but they will not repeat as World Series Champions.
White Sox:
White Sox fans, do yourselves a favor and don’t watch the Major League team. The White Sox’s success this season will not be measured by anything they do on the Major League level. The farm system is where the attention should be paid. Ideally, the White Sox will continue their rebuild throughout the season. This means that the White Sox will trade away the likes of Jose Quintana, David Robertson, and Todd Frazier. If the White Sox go the entire season and none of those three players is traded, then their rebuild may be a failure like the rest of their recent projects.
