It’s been awhile since the Chicago Bears secondary had some attitude. Opposing quarterbacks are killing them at will. Opposing wide receivers are running circles around them. The time for all that foolishness is over.

After taking Adams, a natural-born leader both in the locker room and on the field, the Bears take Wilson.

Wilson is a cornerback who oozes confidence. He takes on the opposition’s best receiver. Against the run, he isn’t satisfied with taking a hit, he’ll give as much as he receives.

Wilson plays with such high energy that it is contagious. HIs teammates feed off his energy. He is the epitome of the confident player — his memory is short so when he does get beat, it doesn’t affect him. He feels that he’ll just intercept the next ball coming his way.

This is the attitude sorely needed on the Bears secondary. Since Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings left, the cornerback unit struggled with causing turnovers and making sure opposing receivers have a long day.

To go along with his attitude, Wilson plays a physical game. He lacks elite speed, but he can maul the receiver at the line and knock him off his route. He has great instincts as well, He anticipates routes well and he jumps them.

Wilson is projected to go in the late first or early second round. Of course, he feels he’s the top cornerback so if he does go in the second round, the Bears will pick up a guy who will wreak havoc on the league to prove a point. The point is that the Bears get themselves a top-notch corner who brings back the Bears’ “Monsters of the Midway” persona.
