In our latest Chicago Bears mock draft, the Bears go with offense early. In fact, they go with the leader of the offense, a quarterback.

The 2017 NFL Draft is just over five weeks away. There is still a lot of mystery surrounding what teams like the Chicago Bears will do. The Bears continue to make free agency moves, thus adding to the mystery.

With all the time still left, plenty of action could still take place. There is still plenty of time to discuss trades. The Bears would be in a better position if they traded down and pick up more draft picks. Although they did a pretty good job of filling holes through free agency so far, there are still plenty more to fill. Some of the players they picked up may not be long-term acquisitions. They may fill in for a season or two, but that’s it. They are bridges to whoever the front office wants there eventually.

For example, general manager Ryan Pace signed quarterback Mike Glennon. He heaped glowing praise upon him. He went as far as to say the Bears were “fired up” to have him.

The truth of the matter, however, is that Glennon signed for just three seasons. His guaranteed money is curiously done partly through his second season. That means the Bears could cut ties with him if he isn’t working out or, let’s say for argument’s sake, they decide to draft a quarterback in this year’s draft. They did send everyone out to see Deshaun Watson’s Pro Day.

The same could be said about safety. Quintin Demps signed for 3 years, $13.5 million. The guarantee is just $5 million, though. Most of that is paid in 2017. Again, the Bears could cut ties and go with someone they drafted, like maybe Jamal Adams.

There are many ways the Bears could go. As I always mention, this is a snapshot of what the Bears may do. Let’s take a look at our latest idea of their possible moves:
