Continuing to check in on possible 2017 NFL Draft targets for the Chicago Bears with a look at Charlotte defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi.

The Chicago Bears are clearly looking to build their team through the draft. They did a nice job of collecting talent throughout the draft last year and will look to repeat their success in the 2017 NFL Draft. We continue to look at a daily possible target for the Bears, today zeroing in on Charlotte defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi.

Ogunjobi is an extremely interesting defensive line prospect who has a ton of upside at the next level. He is a big and powerful interior player who shows nice burst off of the line of scrimmage. Ogunjobi has the combination of quickness, athleticism and strength that teams are always looking for.

There are questions about Ogunjobi’s size and length, but I just do not see it being an issue. Ogunjobi is extremely powerful at the point of attack and his quickness makes up for whatever lack of size he may have. Ogunjobi is an extremely well-rounded player who will make an impact up front.

The small-school product is a strong overall run defense who shows fantastic natural awareness. Ogunjobi consistently made plays in the backfield against the run, but he can also two-gap, creating plays for his teammates.

With an impressive combination of power and athleticism, Ogunjobi has a lot of upside as an interior pass rusher as well. He has an explosive first step and uses his hands extremely well in the pass rush. Ogunjobi undoubtedly has a lot of upside at the next level.

I could see the Chicago Bears taking Ogunjobi if he is still available in the fourth round. They hold the fourth and 10th selections in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and if Ogunjobi is still there, he would be a massive steak. I could also see the Bears taking the talented defensive lineman in the early third round which is probably more realistic.

Ogunjobi probably does not have the ideal length to play five-technique in the Bears’ 3-4 defense. However, he is a talented guy who would make an impact. At worst, he would be a ferocious interior pass rusher when the Bears face obvious passing downs.
