Here is my latest seven-round mock draft for the Chicago Bears.

We are in the midst of a lull in the offseason. The season finished, and there isn’t much going on until the NFL Combine on February 28th. Of course, changes could occur that excites the Chicago Bears fan base.

Rumors run rampant that the Bears will target Jimmy Garoppolo to be the new face of the franchise. With the holes they have, I feel acquiring Garoppolo is too expensive, especially for a player with so little experience. The Bears need those key draft choices, not give them away. Look at what happened the last time they made a mega deal to obtain a quarterback. It crippled their chances to replace older veterans down the road.

Some reports have the Bears going after a quarterback with their top pick, but I feel there aren’t any quarterbacks they should take that early. With the troubles the Bears experienced over the past two seasons, head coach John Fox needs a veteran quarterback who picks up the offense quickly and gets some victories. That wouldn’t prevent them from drafting a quarterback, however. They can choose one and groom him. You cannot have too many quarterbacks, and that worked for Washington when they had both Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins.
