A recent 2017 NFL Mock Draft has the Chicago Bears landing elite edge rusher Myles Garrett at number three. Is this even possible?

Each 2017 NFL Mock Draft is different. Many of them have a tendency to look similar, especially at the top. With the Chicago Bears having the third overall pick, we tend to see them getting projected the same few players. DeShone Kizer, Jonathan Allen and Jamal Adams stand out as three players you can commonly see go to the Bears with the third pick in a 2017 NFL Mock Draft.

However, the latest 2017 NFL Mock Draft from Bleacher Report looks quite a bit different at the top. In this mock draft, quarterbacks DeShaun Watson and Mitch Trubisky go one and two to the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers respectively, this opens up the Bears to land star edge rusher Myles Garrett with the third overall pick.

Now that would be an absolute steal. Most people consider Garrett to be the best overall prospect in this draft class. He is a revolutionary talent who creates consistent pressure from the edge. If the Bears were somehow able to land Garrett, pairing him with Leonard Floyd would give them the best young pass rushing duo in the league to build around defensively.

This would be an incredible pick for the Bears, but is it even possible? Honestly, I highly doubt it. I understand that nothing is more important than the quarterback position, and both the Browns and 49ers clearly have huge needs under center.

That being said, would they really pass up a revolutionary pass rusher for two quarterback prospects with plenty to questions. Both Watson and Trubisky are talented players, but they are far from a blue-chip quarterback prospect. These quarterback prospects are not Andrew Luck or Matt Ryan. Heck, these guys are not even Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota.

The quarterbacks in the 2017 NFL draft class have some upside, but they are far from being guaranteed stars. Passing up Garrett for any quarterback in this class would be foolish.

The 2017 NFL Mock Draft is interesting and would be a great scenario for the Chicago Bears. However, do not get your hopes up. Both the Browns and 49ers have obvious edge rusher needs and Garrett is the clear best player of the bunch. If they do not want to take him, they will trade the pick to someone who values him properly.

It is fun to talk about, but Myles Garrett will not be available for the Bears with the third overall pick.
