We all know that the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons are facing off in the Super Bowl, but who is performing at halftime?

The Super Bowl is the single biggest sporting event of the year. It is so big that the event itself is watched by fans who do not even slightly care about the game. There will certainly be plenty of football fans tuning in to watch the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons battle, but there will be just as many tuning in for the pomp and circumstance.

The commercials are always a huge draw, but aside from the game itself, nothing typically creates more attention than the Super Bowl halftime act. At Super Bowl 51, Lady Gaga will take stage at the 50-yard-line in one of the biggest musical acts of the year.

Lady Gaga is actually a Super Bowl veteran, as she belted out the National Anthem in last year’s game. Her rendition of the National Anthem was widely considered to be one of the best in recent history. She killed it.

With Lady Gaga getting promoted to the Super Bowl halftime show, Country star Luke Bryan will sing the National Anthem this year. He certainly has a tough act to follow.

Who knows what to expect when Lady Gaga takes stage at the Super Bowl halftime show. One thing is for sure, it appears that she is going big.

“I’ve been planning this since I was 4, so I know exactly what I’m going to do,” Lady Gaga said in a behind the scenes look for Pepsi. “The thing is, is it’s such a big world stage in terms of how many people see it and it’s been done so many times. I think the challenge is to look at it and say, ‘What can I do differently, how can I elevate certain little things here and there and also make it about the music?'”

There is even some talk that Gaga may do part of her show from the roof of NRG Stadium. Now that would be crazy. Regardless of how you feel about her music, Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl performance should be an interesting show.
