There have been a wide range of selections for the Chicago Bears with the third overall pick in recent 2017 NFL Mock Draft. Defensive lineman Jonathan Allen is probably the most popular pick, quarterback Deshaun Watson gets plenty of love and since he declared, I have been seeing more and more of safety Malik Hooker in that spot.
That being said, in the recent 2017 NFL Mock Draft by Jonah Tuls of Draft Breakdown, the Bears take another prospect at number three; Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer. Here is what Tuls had to say about the pairing of Kizer and Chicago:
"Another team that desperately needs to go in another direction at the quarterback position is the Chicago Bears. I think the most NFL ready quarterback in this draft is Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer. His feel for the pocket, arm strength, and ability to throw into tight windows with anticipation makes Kizer my top quarterback in this class. There is a lot of Andrew Luck in Kizer, both good and bad. This would be an A+ pick for the Bears."
With Myles Garrett and Deshaun Watson already off the board in this 2017 NFL Mock Draft, I have no issue with the selection of Kizer. I may have gone with the safer d-line selection of Allen, but taking a shot on Kizer would certainly be fun. I personally would rather see Watson under center for the Bears, but Kizer is undoubtedly a talented player who has major upside at the next level.
Kizer is a big-armed passer who can make any throw on the football field. He is also a smart and aware player, shows fantastic mobility and high-level accuracy. On top of that, Kizer has ideal size for the position (listed at 6-4.5, 230 pounds).
There are flaws in Kizer’s game that will need to be cleaned up in the NFL. He is not the most polished passer at the moment, showing rough footwork in the pocket that can lead to mistakes. Despite his flaws, Kizer does have a smooth delivery that allows him to throw passes that are typically easy to catch.

He is not a perfect quarterback prospect, but on paper, Kizer has it all. There is no denying his raw ability at the quarterback position. He is a high upside play for the Bears at number three that would have a strong chance of working out. The Bears have an obvious need at quarterback and Kizer could come in and be the guy right away.
