The Chicago Bears went 3-13 this season, and they ended up grabbing the 3rd overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Who should they select?

Chicago Bears No.1 First-Round Option: Quarterback

The Chicago Bears will have options at quarterback with the third pick. North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky may be off the board, but there will still be a lot of quarterback talent available.

DeShone Kizer and Deshaun Watson are names that immediately come to mind, but if the Bears are looking to draft a quarterback to win a Superbowl, Kizer should be the pick here. He has made youthful mistakes, but he is an extremely talented player who looks like he could be ready to take over next season for the Bears.

No. 2 Option: Defensive Line

If the Chicago Bears decide to pass on a quarterback with the third pick, I think the next option is to look at Jonathan Allen from Alabama. He is a special talent on the defensive front, who has a great combination of power and athleticism.

The Bears front seven is loaded, but they could certainly use a guy like Allen. Generally, my theory is that if there is an Alabama defensive player on the board, you should at least consider picking him.

Edge rusher Myles Garrett has been going first overall in most mock drafts, but if he somehow falls to number three, the Bears should pick him without hesitation.

No. 3 Option: Safety

In a couple of recent mock drafts, the Bears are predicted to select Jamal Adams from LSU. If the Bears do pick Adams at number three, they are pretty confident he is the next Hall of Fame safety. You do not pick a safety that high unless you know he is the next great thing.

No. 4 Option: Linebacker

More from Chicago Bears

One thing is for sure, Alabama is loaded with elite talent on the defensive side of the ball. They have many defensive prospects who the Bears should be looking at. Besides Allen, Reuben Foster is the next guy on my list. Sure, the Bears have Danny Trevathan and Jerrell Freeman, but Foster is an elite prospect and it never hurts to add a potential All-Pro talent to your roster.

Prediction

With the number three pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select: quarterback DeShone Kizer from the University of Notre Dame.

When it comes down to it, the Bears are not going anywhere without a franchise quarterback. Kizer’s upside is far too tempting for the Bears to pass up, making him the most logical selection.

You’ve heard my prediction. Now who do YOU think the Bears are going to draft 3rd overall in the draft? Be sure to let us know in the comments section below.
