Now that the season is mercifully over, the focus is now on the Chicago Bears’ rebuilding program. One of the best and cheapest ways to do it is through the draft. With quarterback a concern, we take a look at some possible choices.

The 2016 season is finally over. Well, it was over months ago, but now it is official. The Chicago Bears failed to make the playoffs for the ninth time in ten seasons. This is something fans are tired of going through.

This may be one of the most important offseasons in franchise history. The play on the field gets considerably worse the last three years, and Soldier Field finds itself with a lot of empty seats at Bears games. The pressure is on the team’s front office to reverse the field and assemble a team that competes for a title. This is one of the most historic franchises in NFL history, yet it is now one of the league’s laughingstock. Not only are the Bears losing, they are embarrassing themselves. The list of Bears players getting suspended over PED use is alarming. The fights and discord on the sidelines and in the locker room aren’t a nice sight either.

One of the best and cheapest ways to get back on the winning track is through the draft. The team gets its players at a relative bargain, and have control over them for a while under their rookie deals.

The Bears have seven picks in this year’s draft. That is, unless, they make any deals between now and draft day. It is imperative they make the right choices.

One of the areas of concern is the quarterback position. Jay Cutler has been the face of the franchise for eight years now, and has two playoff games and one playoff win to show for it. Yes, there are many reasons why his time in Chicago did not work, but I won’t rehash them here. Suffice it to say, his time here is over. He is entering his age 34 season and his body is breaking down. It is time for a new face.

There are several choices available to the Bears in this draft. They can choose to get one in the first round, or there are several choices in the later rounds. Picking the right one is important, however. If they pick the wrong one, it could set the franchise back years.

Here are some of the choices the Chicago Bears could consider in this year’s NFL draft:
