Chicago Bears ready to show action
Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace realizes the time to act is now after the team won 3 games in 2016.
Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace spoke during the team’s end of the year press conference on Wednesday and promised action this off-season.
“We’re going to be aggressive and calculated this offseason,” Pace said as part of his opening statement. “We’re in a position to do so. We’ll have a clear understanding of our roster and where our needs are and where we want to add to each position. I’m honestly extremely disappointed in this season. But I’m honestly excited going forward. My message to Bears fans is simple: We’re going to get better. We will improve. I hear you. But I also understand this is just talk and we’ve got to show actions. We’ve got to show results. I fully get that.”

The issue with Pace’s comments on Wednesday is that he may have already lost the benefit of doubt. After the Bears won 6 games during the 2015, there were enough encouraging signs that fans felt that the team was in the right direction under Pace and head coach John Fox.
But after 3 wins in 2016, those encouraging signs have disappeared. Instead, the Bears are a team that has an inept offensive coordinator, inept in-game head coach, and inferior talent at the important positions on the roster. But Pace did not admit to any of those facts. Though, Pace and Fox didn’t blame “injuries” for their poor 2016 season. (Just overlook the fact that the word was used over a dozen times during the press conference.)

For Pace and Fox, it’s really quite simple. There needs to be successful action this off-season and the action that will be made next off-season are their firings from the Chicago Bears.
