After trading down in the second round of the draft last year, the Bears picked up an extra fourth-round selection for the 2017 NFL Draft from the Buffalo Bills. With their second fourth-round selection, the Bears find an offensive lineman to add to the mix.

The Bears have an interesting mix of players up front. When healthy, they are loaded on the interior. Center Cody Whitehair flanked by guards Josh Sitton and Kyle Long is basically as good as it gets on the inside. However, their offensive tackle situation leaves plenty to be desired.

Their starting duo of Charles Leno and Bobby Massie have some upside, but they have been far too inconsistent in pass protection. If we are being honest, offensive tackle is among the largest needs on the Bears’ roster.

Taylor Moton is an extremely powerful offensive tackle who has major upside at the next level. He is a dominant run blocker who man-handles opposing defenders with raw power and strength. That being said, he also has enough quickness to reach the second-level with consistency.

Moton’s power allows him to dominate in the run game, but he is an impressive athlete for an offensive lineman who has pass protection upside. His technique as a pass blocker is spotty, but the upside is painfully obvious.

A talented player who could quickly become a potential starter at a position of need, Moton is a fantastic choice for the Bears in the fourth round.
