Bench

Joe Maddon has plenty up his sleeve to work with when it comes to versatility. He has the flexibility of moving his players around to different positions, and he can bring hitters off the bench and expect them to get big hits.

Contreras and Montero have already shown their prowess off the bench. Jorge Soler has power (and already tasted postseason success). Albert Almora Jr, can play excellent defense. I’ve already mentioned what having Schwarber could do.

Maddon is like a kid in the candy store with his bench.

The Indians took a hit with the injury of All Star Michael Brantley and drug suspensions to Abraham Almonte and former Cub Marlon Byrd. Manager Terry Francona has some speed and pop, but he lacks the versatility that Maddon does.
