Aaron Burbridge (6-foot-0, 208 pounds), WR, Michigan State

The Chicago Bears wide receivers corps was hit hard by the injury bug. Jeffery and Eddie Royal played just nine games. Kevin White missed the entire season.

Aside from those three, there were not many dependable targets for Cutler in 2015. Joshua Bellamy and Marquess Wilson had their moments, but were inconsistent. Marc Mariani was more of a special teams player than a true wide receiver, and the other guys were just basically taking up space.

If the trio of receivers are healthy in 2016, Cutler and the Bears will be very happy. There needs to be some dependable backup, however.

Burbridge can provide that.

Burbridge is not going to wow you with anything, but he is a dependable receiver who does not need much space from the defender for him to make catches. He was Connor Cook’s most targeted receiver in 2015.

Burbridge led the Big 10 in yards (1,258) and receptions (85) in 2015.

Burbridge is not a speed burner who will make a big play. Of his 165 receptions, he had only one that went for more than 40 yards. He can be a good possession receiver, however. He has strong, dependable hands, and fights hard for the ball.

Burbridge would help give the Chicago Bears the depth they need so that Cutler and the offense is not stuck without dependable receivers in case of injury. Had they had that last season, they might have finished at .500 or above.
