The Chicago Bears have been busy during the free agency period. They have shored up the roster, and now are ready to do just about anything in the upcoming draft.

Ryan Pace and the Chicago Bears have been very busy throughout the free agency period. Even though the frenzy is over and most teams feel they did enough, the Bears are still strengthening the roster.

Pace has made some great free agency moves (at least on paper) to build a playoff contending team.

Pace’s philosophy is to go after the best player available so he does not make a pick out of desperation because of a need. So far, he turned the inside linebacker corps from a liability to a strength, he added much-needed depth on the offensive line, and he signed a solid defensive lineman.

Sure, the Chicago Bears still have holes (cornerback, safety, another defensive lineman, etc.), but they are in a position now where there are fewer holes, and Pace can better utilize his philosophy.

Pace may not be done with dealing before the draft. He is said to be interested in defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson, and there is Donte Whitner, who played under defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, out there.

It will be an interesting draft weekend for the Chicago Bears. Fans should be ready for just about anything to happen.
